When you are not at an AOC event check out the finals of the Essentially Ellington competition streaming on Livestream and I think also on jazz.org. Gregg Gelb's youth jazz group is scheduled around 1pm today.
AOC FESTIVAL HAPPENING NOW
As I'm sure you know, The ART OF COOL Festival is in full swing in downtown Durham. I got to take in some of the many offerings yesterday - "And a good time was had by all". Lots more offerings today. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy live performances. Grab a hold!

The Diasporic Suite is a original work that presents the beauty and richness of many styles of folkloric Latin/Central American rhythms that find their roots in various cultures of the African Diaspora. It contains Puerto Rican traditional styles (Bomba/Plena), Cuban styles (Rumba/Santeria), and Brazilian styles (Samba Duro). Traditional interludes that pull from religious Cuban music intertwine the full band compositions.
