JAZZ SATURDAYS is a free weekly live jazz concert series showcasing different area jazz musicians in each installment.
This week's musicians: TRIO MAMBO
Located in the Chapel Hill/Durham area, Trio Mambo is a Latin jazz combo that explores the Latin musics of the Americas rooted in African Diasporic traditions, with particular interest in those of Cuba and Puerto Rico. With its unique instrumentation, Trio Mambo creates their own brand of Afro-Cuban and Latin Jazz, performing a variety of styles ranging from bolero and cha-cha to guaracha and guaguancó. The group features Louis Ramos on lead vocals, conga, and bongo, Nathan Mason on vibes, percussion, and backup vocals, and Alex Polydoroff on electric bass.

DURHAM JAZZ RESERVOIR HEAVY FLOW
Jazz in Durham, NC and environs has indeed been a reservoir flowing heavy during October/November 2017. I am happy to say that from what I can see this great situation will be continuing. OH YEAH!!!
