Michael Pelz-Sherman and Paul Bomar Release Cancer Benefit Album “The Gift”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Cary, NC] – Michael Pelz-Sherman and Paul Bomar are thrilled to announce the release of their debut jazz album from “The Gift”, available April 9, 2017 at https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/paulbomar, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and most major online music stores.
The Gift is the debut album by jazz pianist Pelz-Sherman (Cary, NC) and guitarist Bomar (Clayton, NC). Bomar and Pelz-Sherman been performing together for several years at jazz clubs and events throughout the Triangle.
Both musicians’ lives have been devastated by cancer. Paul is a two-time survivor of tongue cancer, and Pelz-Sherman’s wife, Dori, died of ovarian cancer in July ‘17. The loss of his wife pushed Pelz-Sherman to produce this recording, as a tribute to her memory, and to honor Paul’s spirit as a survivor.
On January 15, 2018, Paul and Michael took over C Grace Bar in Raleigh and recorded this music in one live 3-hour session. The results of that session have been released through CD Baby, and will be available for purchase on Amazon, iTunes, Pandora, and all major digital music sites.
We decided to donate 100% of the sales of this recording to the American Cancer Society in hope that this may help lead to a cure, or at least better treatment options and better outcomes for those suffering with this dreaded disease.
A release party will be held at C Grace Bar on April 22nd, 7pm - 10pm. No cover will be charged.
