Wednesday night jam session at BEYU Caffe. The Swing Master Kobie Watkins heading up the jammin'. If it turns out to be anything close to last week it should be a blast!
A shout out to Mike at Duke Eye Clinic. Mike, check out this jam session some Wednesday night, I think you'll enjoy. Also. catch WNCU, 90.7 FM and streaming 24 hours a day at wncu.org. Great sounds - jam session and radio.
Also a welcome to jazz in Durham. NC to Charles & Loesje Troglia. It was good to meet and talk with you on Sunday at the WINE BAR (601 W. Main St.) inauguration of their Sunday afternoon 3 -5 pm jazz session. Those were nice notes coming from Noah Sager on piano, Eric Meyer on bass, and Dwayne Jordan on drums. A nice Sunday, jazz brunch at BEYU 11am - 2 pm and then up the block to the wine bar for more live sounds 3-5 pm. More plus stuff for the state of jazz in Durham, NC.
Contributions to what looks like a great jazz opportunity for some young folks can be made right now to The ART OF COOL. Their START OF COOL program begins this coming Monday. Also, Durham Jazz Workshop/Sharp 9 Gallery is welcoming contributions in support of their continuing activities. Both these organizations are working hard to advance jazz in Durham, NC and environs. I know they appreciate any help they can get from us, the members/beneficiaries of this wonderful jazz community. Ed Furtick
