The answer to the question about what's going on in live jazz in Durham, NC and environs is A WHOLE LOT! And the gigs are happening now. If you're a jazz lover, I'd be willing to bet a buck or two that you can find someplace, or several places to catch some good live jazz almost any night of the week. I stopped in on the Cool 21 Jazz Trio at Alley 26 last night. Baxter Smith on piano, Ed Moon on bass, Donovan Cheatham on drums It was enjoyable. This was Tuesday night in Durham, NC. RIGHT ON! I hope we jazz lovers can show support for the musicians and venues that are offering us the chance for some of the best medicine in the world - MUSIC in general, JAZZ in particular. Hope to see a bunch more of you out and about enjoying and supporting. Kobie's jam is at BEYU tonight. The BU PROJECT is at THE SHED Thursday night 8pm start, and another one of our smokin' usual subjects jazz groups, The Michael Jones Trio, Michael Jones on keys, Bill Hayes on drums, Ellis Merlin on bass, is at BEYU Thursday 7-9pm. I'm having a good time just talking about what's going on!
